Avalon Europe is seeking dedicated Sailors to join our crew and assist in the smooth operation of our luxury river cruise ships. As a Sailor, you will work closely with the Captain and other crew members to ensure the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of our guests. Your responsibilities will include assisting with navigation and deck duties, maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the ship, and supporting guest services as needed. Your role is essential in contributing to a seamless and enjoyable cruise experience for all onboard.
In addition to your daily duties, you will monitor and maintain the ship’s inventory of supplies and equipment, including electricity, fuel, and water. You will also assist in the loading and unloading of cargo and supplies, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and safely. During emergencies, you will play a critical role in implementing safety procedures and responding to any incidents under the direction of the Captain or senior crew members. Your strong work ethic, attention to detail, and positive attitude will be key to your success in this role.
To qualify for this position, a high school diploma or equivalent is a plus, with vocational or technical training in maritime studies preferred. Ideally, you should have at least 1 year of experience in a maritime or hospitality role. Basic knowledge of ship navigation, engineering systems, and safety procedures is beneficial. The ability to work effectively in a team, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, is essential. Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays, is required.
