As a Housekeeper for Avalon Europe, you will take a leading role in ensuring the cleanliness, maintenance, and overall presentation of guest cabins, public areas, and crew quarters on our luxury river cruise ships. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee all housekeeping operations, including cabin cleaning, laundry, and inventory management, while leading a dedicated team of housekeeping professionals. Your efforts will contribute significantly to delivering a comfortable, personalized, and memorable experience for our guests during their river cruise vacation.
In this role, you will develop and implement standard operating procedures to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and service. You will monitor guest satisfaction, address feedback promptly, and collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless experience for both guests and crew. Additionally, you will manage the housekeeping department’s budget, maintain inventory, and order supplies as needed. Your leadership will also extend to planning and executing special events and activities on board when required, ensuring compliance with safety and security regulations at all times.
To excel in this position, you should have at least 3 years of experience in housekeeping management or a related field. A bachelor’s degree in hospitality management is preferred but not essential. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are crucial, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure. A proven track record in managing budgets and financial performance is also important. Experience in the cruise industry is a plus, and proficiency in written and verbal English is required.
