As a Chef de Bar for Avalon Europe, you will be the creative force behind our bar operations, responsible for crafting and serving a wide range of beverages to our guests in both the restaurant and bar areas. You will play a key role in creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere, ensuring that all drinks are prepared to the highest standards. Your exceptional customer service skills will enhance the overall guest experience, making their time onboard our luxury river cruise ships memorable and satisfying.
In this role, your key responsibilities will include creating and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, maintaining clean and fully stocked bar areas, and managing inventory and stock levels. You will also handle payments and manage the point of sale system, while providing guidance and supervision to other bar staff. Additionally, you will prepare food items from the bar menu as required and ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations. Your extensive product knowledge will enable you to make informed recommendations to guests based on their preferences.
To succeed in this position, you should have proven experience as a bartender or Chef de Bar, with a strong knowledge of beverages and their preparation. Familiarity with point of sale systems, excellent customer service, and strong communication skills are essential. The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, coupled with attention to detail and organizational skills, will be key to your success. Certification in bartending or mixology is a plus, and fluency in English is required, with additional language skills being an advantage.
