As a Maitre d’Hotel for Avalon Europe, you will be at the forefront of delivering exceptional service to our guests while managing the service operations of our luxury river cruise ships. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant and bar, ensuring that all aspects of service meet Avalon’s high standards. Working closely with the Executive Chef and other department heads, you will ensure a seamless and memorable dining experience for our guests, maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness, hygiene, and service quality.

Your key responsibilities will involve managing scheduling, ordering supplies, and supervising a team of Waiters to ensure efficient and professional service. You will monitor guest satisfaction, respond promptly to feedback or complaints, and ensure strict compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations. Collaboration with the Executive Chef will be essential as you coordinate menus, manage inventory, and oversee food presentation and quality. Additionally, you will implement and uphold service standards and procedures, plan and execute special events, and work closely with other departments to ensure a seamless guest and crew experience.

To succeed in this role, you should have at least 3 years of experience in restaurant management or a related field, with strong leadership and communication skills. The ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and make sound decisions is essential. A proven track record in managing budgets and financial performance is also important. Experience in the cruise or hospitality industry is a plus, and fluency in English is required, with additional languages being an asset.
