As a Laundry Steward for Avalon Europe, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and quality of linens, uniforms, and other laundry items onboard our luxury river cruise ships. You will be responsible for the efficient and timely processing of all laundry, working as part of the Housekeeping team to ensure that our guests and crew enjoy a pristine and comfortable environment. Your duties will include sorting, washing, drying, ironing, folding, and distributing laundry items while ensuring that laundry operations run smoothly and adhere to all safety and environmental regulations.
In addition to handling laundry tasks, you will maintain the cleanliness and functionality of laundry equipment and facilities, monitor inventory levels, and order supplies as needed. You will collaborate with other departments to ensure the timely delivery of laundry items and may be called upon to assist with other housekeeping duties as required. Your role is vital to the overall guest experience, ensuring that all linens and uniforms meet Avalon Europe’s high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
To succeed in this position, previous experience in a laundry or housekeeping role is preferred. You must have a keen attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and strong organizational and communication skills. The role requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time. Proficiency in English is also required.
